I didn’t stumble into sales — I was born into it. My first “territory” was two paper routes as a kid, and from that moment on, I learned the thrill of earning commission, competing with others and myself, and winning client accolades, trophies and  recognition. 

Fast-forward a few decades: I’ve sold insurance, mortgages, and even LEGO. I’ve trained hundreds of salespeople as a Dale Carnegie instructor. And at every company I worked for, I wasn’t just hitting quota — I was the one they pointed to when they handed out Salesperson of the Year.

But here’s the real story: success never came from gimmicks or luck. It came from a mindset — a daily discipline — a way of showing up and executing when others stalled. That’s what clients, students, and colleagues noticed most: “Vickie doesn’t just work hard, she wins consistently.”

The biggest influence on me? Watching other sales pros plateau. Brilliant, talented people who never broke through because they lacked a system. That lit the fire to create The Winning Edge — a 90-day playbook system that takes you from stuck to soaring.
